The Hustle is the feature-length directorial debut of The Thick of It‘s Chris Addison (who has also directed episodes of the sweary, political omnishamble’s US equivalent, Veep). (Photo: Universal Pictures) Who’s directing it? Ingrid Oliver (Doctor Who) plays Inspector Desjardins, Emma Davies (Emmerdale) is Cathy, while Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) and Danish actor Casper Christensen are also on the cast. Portnoy is played by Tim Blake Nelson, who has appeared in Coen Brothers films O Brother, Where Art Thou? and The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, as well as TV shows like Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. He’s recently been cast in the untitled Game of Thrones prequel too. That tech billionaire is Thomas Westerburg, played by Alex Sharp, who made his acting debut in Netflix’s To The Bone, before starring alongside Elle Fanning in How to Talk to Girls at Parties. When the pair meet, they decide to put their differences aside, and team up to combine their unique skills – Rust’s talent for physicality and Chesterfield’s withering wit – to swindle a naive tech billionaire.
